Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-09-07
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of knowbody (the "Platform"), operated by the Platform operator ("knowbody," "we," "us"). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.
1. What knowbody is
knowbody is a marketplace connecting brands ("Brands") with individuals ("Models") who agree to display, wear, or otherwise use branded materials, and to document that performance, in exchange for payment. knowbody is not a party to the underlying arrangement between a Brand and a Model beyond facilitating the posting, acceptance, payment, and completion of a campaign ("Campaign") through the Platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Model account. By confirming your age at signup, you represent that this is true. Brand accounts must be created by someone authorized to bind the Brand to a Campaign's terms and to this agreement.
3. Campaigns, payment, and completion
A Brand posts a Campaign describing the ask, the pay rate, and the window. A Model may accept a Campaign or propose a different rate. Once accepted, the Brand pays the Campaign's pay rate through the Platform's payment processor; funds are collected into the Platform's own account. The Model then performs the Campaign and submits proof of performance. The Brand reviews that proof and, if satisfied, confirms the Campaign complete. That confirmation is both the Brand's verification of performance and the trigger for the payout owed to the Model, calculated as the pay rate less the Platform's fee (currently 15%).
Payouts to Models are currently issued manually by the Platform operator outside the app, based on records the Platform maintains once a Campaign is confirmed complete. The Platform does not guarantee a specific payout timeline beyond acting in good faith once a payout becomes owed.
3a. Refunds
A Brand's payment is refunded if a Campaign is cancelled before it is accepted, or before the Brand has paid. Once a Model has submitted proof of performance and the Brand has confirmed the Campaign complete, the payment is final and not refundable through the Platform. A payment may also be reversed outside the Platform's control by knowbody's payment processor - for example, if the Brand disputes the charge with their card issuer (see 3b).
3b. Disputes and chargebacks
If a Brand disputes a charge with their card issuer, or a payment is refunded through the payment processor, the Platform places the associated Campaign's payment status and any payout owed to the Model on hold pending the outcome. The Platform does not currently offer an in-app evidence-submission process for disputes; disputes are handled by the Platform operator directly with the payment processor, and the operator may reach out to either party for information relevant to the dispute.
3c. Tax reporting
Models are independent contractors, not employees of knowbody, and are solely responsible for reporting and paying taxes on amounts they are paid through the Platform. Where required by law, knowbody or its payment processor may issue a Model a Form 1099-NEC (or successor form) for payouts meeting the applicable IRS reporting threshold, which may require the Model to provide a completed Form W-9 or equivalent taxpayer information before a payout above that threshold is issued. This section is a placeholder pending counsel review before this Platform processes real payouts at any volume; the mechanism for collecting taxpayer information described here does not yet exist in the app.
4. Content and licensing
When a Model submits proof of performance for a Campaign, that submission is governed by the Content License & Work Made for Hire Agreement, which the Model accepts at the time of submission. That agreement, not this one, controls ownership and licensing of submitted content.
5. Conduct
You agree not to use the Platform to post or fulfill Campaigns that are unlawful, that misrepresent a Model's identity or a Brand's affiliation, or that involve content a Model does not have the right to submit. knowbody may suspend or terminate an account for a material violation of these Terms.
5a. Community guidelines
knowbody has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You may not post, send, or submit content that is sexually explicit or pornographic; harassing, hateful, or threatening; violent or gory; defamatory; that impersonates another person or brand; that depicts or involves a minor in any Campaign; that is spam or a scam; or that is otherwise unlawful. This applies to profile photos, Campaign copy and reference imagery, proof-of-completion photos, and messages between users alike.
Every piece of user content on knowbody carries a Report control, and every user account carries a Block control. Blocking a user hides each of you from the other across browse, the roster, and messaging, and can be undone from Settings.
We review every report and act on it within 24 hours — removing content, and suspending or terminating the account responsible. Accounts suspended for a guidelines violation lose access immediately. By using the Platform you agree to these guidelines and acknowledge that there is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.
To report content, abuse, or an account, use the in-app Report control, or contact us at support@carveresq.com. To appeal a suspension, write to the same address.
6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Platform is provided "as is." knowbody does not guarantee that a Campaign will be completed, that a Model's performance will meet a Brand's expectations, or that a payout will be issued within any particular timeframe. To the maximum extent permitted by law, knowbody's aggregate liability arising from these Terms or use of the Platform is limited to the fees knowbody actually retained from the Campaign giving rise to the claim.
7. Changes
knowbody may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
